ground rules & whatnot:
• This still needs a bit of a clean-up but this is the best that I've got so far. Eventually, I'll make a new one with less complicated codes.
• Well, as we have seen, background colors & images do work on profiles now.
• Works on journal entries as well.
• Tested in Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and iPad Safari.
• Altering is more than all right, just be sure to leave the credit on there somewhere.
• Comments are loved, but not necessary.
• Follow
exclusive (or
dreamcodes, in any case) for future updates!

Also, when I try to change the colors, the first and third icon space and the text space are very green (here), even though I'm using the same hexidecimal for all four of them.

For the space above the icons: Dreamwidth seems to make linebreaks HUGE for some reason that I cannot figure out. If you remove the <br> before each image, that should take care of that.
For the space above the text: There's another <br> you can remove, but this doesn't remove a lot of space. To remove more of the space, look for the height in the cells immediately preceeding and proceeding the cell with the text; this is set at 110 in one cell, 120 in the other. I changed it to 70 for both and could have lowered it even more, but if you have more text, you will probably want to make it larger. (Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to make the font size on "BURN THE NIGHT" any larger.)
For the color issues: When I viewed the source code for your profile, I noticed there is a space preceeding the hexidecimal ("# 662200" instead of "#662200") in all of your problem-cells. I'm not sure what the code looks like when you actually edit your profile, but if the space is there, removing it should solve your issues.
I hope that helps!
(Note: I have not done any LJ layouts/coding in years and have zero experience with DW. Hopefully I explained it clear enough; apologies if I get any terms wrong. If you can't figure out what I'm saying, you could probably send me your code via PM, I'll hack at it and send it back to you.)
